    Asa Gordon

    Aas Gorden, Secretary-General of The Sons and Daughters of the United States Colored Troops Foundation. The foundation is chartered by the African-American Civil War Memorial Freedom Foundation (AACWMFF) to augment the Foundation's mission of using the high visibility of the National Monument " the Spirit of Freedom " and the names of 209, 143 U.S. Colored Troops to change the way American History is taught.     Charles Charles "Ben" Hawley is a member of B Company, 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment based in Washington, DC. A Civil War Reenactor with B Company since 1991, he has traveled extensively, speaking to groups about Blacks in the Civil War. A descendant, of a Civil War soldier, Mr. Hawley's great-great-grandfather, Orrin B. Hawley, was a member of the 29th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry Regiment (Colored). He is a member of Historical Extras and had several bit parts in History Channel documentaries, most recently "Slavery and The Making of America."  John Gourdin John Gourdin, author of three books, and a member of the South Carolina Historical Society; Hilton Head Heritage Library Foundation and other Historical and Genealogical organizations in the United States. Having served more than 20 years with the Marines, Gourdin developed a growing interest in the Civil War. He discovered re-enacting as a means of gaining detailed insight into the lives of black soldiers during the U.S. Civil War. Dr. Roger Davidson Dr. Roger Davidson His areas of interest/specialization include the Civil War Era, Nineteenth Century America, Southern Maritime History, and Cold War Africa. He has co-authored with Yohuru Williams ed. A Constant Struggle: Documents and Essays in African American History, vol. Bearnard Siler Bernard Siler, is a member of B Company, 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment based in Washington, DC. A Civil War Reenactor with B Company and a charter member since 1988. Mr. Siler is also an attorney and is with the District of Columbia's Office of the Attorney General, Washington, D.C. and a Lieutenant Colonel on active duty in the Judge Advocate General Corps. He is available to give historical lectures on the American Civil War. His movie appearances include Glory, and Andersonville and has written and published the following articles: "Union Navy," published April 1993, Washington Times and "The Assassination of President James A.
